This Doll is one of the "Limited Edition" dolls for modern Barbies "limited" to 35,000 worldwide, outfit is similarly limited too. Doll and outfit are sold-out on most dealers' level as of September 2000. Separate outfits available for this doll include "Lunch at the Club" and "Garden Party." This doll was designed by Barbie designer Robert Best.
Market Report has shown that this doll has increased significantly in value since 2000, since it was the second doll in the very popular Silkstone/Lingerie Barbie series. The early Silkstone dolls have definitely bucked the trend on declining modern Barbie prices.
I purchased this doll from Doll Inc at Wheelock Place for approximately US$50 and guess what her current price is? Ha.. currently ranges from US$200 to US$300+ (NRFB = Never Remove From Box) at online auctions such as eBay.. indeed one of my super best buys :)
